Bali!!! (Ubud)

So I feel like Bali is on every Pinterest bucket-list, but now I know why! I seriously fell in love with the island! Seth suggested last minute to add Bali to our Asia trip, and I am so glad he did! I know it sounds cliche, but there is something magical about the lush jungles, gorgeous beaches, and kind people!

After the 2 days of traveling to get from North Carolina to Indonesia, we planned to immediately check into the Bali Botanica spa in Ubud. Which was maybe the best idea I’ve ever had! Flying across the world really wears you out! We got a couple’s massage, a floral bath with tea, and facials with a facial massage, all for around $70 total! The spa was lovely and had a beautiful window overlooking the jungle right by the massive tub! The massage was one of the best I’ve ever had! I would highly recommend it!

We also loved our hotel in Ubud, Sayan Terrace Resort! I found it via Airbnb, and it far exceed my expectations! Here is the view of the infinity pool, and we had a perfect view of Mount Batur and the jungle from our room! It was a romantic oasis! The breakfast every morning was so delicious as well! The staff was very helpful and set up rides to the airport, taxis, and such.

There are so many things to do in Ubud! I wish we had more time to explore! I recommend hiring a private driver instead of going on a tour because you can pick and choose where you want to go.

I especially loved visiting the Tegalalang Rice Terrace! It was even more beautiful than in photos! My pictures do not do it justice! Bring some change to “tip” the landowners as you cross from terrace to terrace. Also, if you keep walking, you can get photos without other tourists in them!

The Tegenungan Waterfall was worth seeing as well! It was much larger and more powerful than I was expecting! I thought we would be able to swim under it, but that is definitely not the case! There are a lot of steps to get down, so it may be more difficult with children.

Before we arrived in Bali, I told Seth I would love to see a temple. Well, little did I know, there are literally temples on every corner! Some are private, but we loved visiting the Ubud temple/palace! It was very dramatic and intricate! We were very surprised by how Ubud did not seem nearly as touristy as we thought, and we hardly had to wait at any attraction!

Jungles, terraces, temples, culture: Ubud has it all! I can’t wait to go back! Helpful Links:https://www.balibotanica.com/ https://sites.google.com/view/budamanis-info/sayan-terrace-resort
